First comic of the new year! And apparently I decided to try something a little different for a change to kick things off. Don’t worry, we’ll continue the story next week. I just wanted to make this comic before Dante’s Inferno releases, and I don’t want to wind up having to interrupt any serious moments, so this seemed like the best time for it.

I have to say, I’m pretty excited about Dante’s Inferno. Time will tell if it actually turns out to be a good game, but the concept art behind the game’s design is fantastic. The circles of hell are so creative and detailed, it would be beautiful if it wasn’t so horrifying. You can explore most of the levels on the game’s website, which I have to confess felt a little bit like Satan was holding an open house. Thus the comic.

I’m sure you also noticed that the version of Satan I used is the one from Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny. That’s because I couldn’t find any solid information on what Satan will look like in Dante’s Inferno. Well, there is a smoky black cloud that appears in several trailers, but anyone familiar with The Divine Comedy knows that’s just a proxy of sorts for his actual appearance. I could have done something that matched The Divine Comedy, but it’s pretty obvious how that wouldn’t have worked out well for this comic. Anyway, I just decided to go with one of my favorite representations of Satan.

Hope you all enjoy! I’ll see you next week, when we get back to finishing this story. We’re so close to the end now, and then I finally get to show the internet portion of my crowd the contents of Mint Condition.
