Today’s comic was inspired by a post I saw on Tumblr that complained about Fallout 4’s apparent limitation to only create straight characters, or at the very least characters that begin in a straight marriage. My first instinct was to defend the decision due to the nature of the setting, but the more I thought about it, the more I realized there’s plenty of ways the game already stomps all over the reality of that setting anyway. Now don’t get me wrong, I understand the likely reasons Bethesda chose to go this direction, (Allowing same-sex couples would have added a lot of work to the character creation as they designed it, not to mention negating the baby-generating system they were so proud of at E3.) but at the very least, being true to the setting isn’t one of them.
