This is going to be one of those love it or hate it things, I know this before I even go into it. This is an idea I’ve wanted to do for a while, but upon having a little moment of inspiration where I came up with over a dozen ideas for these cards, I finally got the nerve to go ahead and do it. Basically, this is just a little thing I’m going to try in the style of Wacky Packages or Garbage Pail Kids, where I make little cards with pun-based parodies of nerdy pop culture stuff. I’ve gotten mixed reactions from people about the idea, but more positive than negative, so I feel it’s worth a shot. I’ll do my best to space them out so those of you who don’t like it won’t have to suffer that much.

Anyway, Strip 2012! I had a great time as usual, though I missed some of my pals that usually attend. However, I got to meet Fesworks, who is a kickass guy that I’ve known for ages through internet forums but never had the pleasure of meeting in person. I met a bunch of awesome new faces as well, though I’ve realized upon pulling up the links they’re FAR too numerous to link here, or else I’ll be editing this blog post all night. The con was small as always (though it seems to grow ever so slightly from year to year) and my sales were actually fantastic this time around. I have to say that I think in large part this is because I was able to display my latest work, and in the past year I’ve really been trying to push myself to a new level. The “I can’t draw Sonic” print I’ve been showing off on my Twitter and Tumblr accounts was an especially big hit. I was nervous about venturing into prints but it would appear I had nothing to worry about. I also was involved in my very first panel, and enjoyed it greatly. I’m suffering more car trouble just like last year, but that’s just my crappy luck. Anyway, I had a great time.
